COLIN BRENNAN

Our team interviewed this growth-focused leader to learn more about his vision and why he was eager to join Lumin.

Q: Why did you join Lumin? What excites you about the opportunity?
I believe in Lumin’s product and the impact it has on our client’s business, and their users.  Lumin Digital has over 25 years of online digital banking experience and the core team has founded two of the largest players in the financial services space.  We know what works. We have a perfect record of on-time launches. Our NPS  is over 80 (in our category, over 50 is considered exceptional). And with a 2% attrition rate, we consistently serve clients extremely well every day. It’s exciting to be a part of the team that delivers financial institutions a competitive advantage with future-ready digital banking solutions that rival those of the largest banks in the country.

Q: How has your previous experience prepared you for this role?
Over the past 28 years, I’ve played various roles across product, sales, go-to-market, and business leadership. All those roles had one thing in common: they were focused on how to help solve client’s problems using technology. The ultimate goal has always been to drive better outcomes, and I’m excited to do the same for Lumin’s clients.

Q: What sets Lumin Digital apart and how are you leveraging changes in the industry?
We are starting to see trends for consolidation. Lumin is perfectly positioned to help clients through a transaction. Our product scales naturally as the business grows and evolves. If a financial institution brings on 40,000 new users, we can accommodate that overnight. I’m also seeing a trend toward marketing and personalization. Financial institutions are asking how they can grow and engage their member base. With Lumin Digital’s platform, we can help an individual credit union target audiences with ease – with a very specific campaign at the right time and place and through the right channel.

Q: Tell us more about Lumin’s culture.
It’s been refreshing to be at a company that moves quickly. I think the team at Lumin has built a culture where employees are empowered to innovate and are inspired by solving problems for our clients, their users,  and the industry. There’s also a spirit of agility and decisiveness that allows us to move swiftly for our clients so that they can stay ahead of the ever-changing expectations of their customers.
