Founded in 1934, TAPCO Credit Union serves more than 31,000 users across the South Sound region of Washington State.
The obstacles
TAPCO’s previous digital banking platform offered limited features, inconsistent experience between desktop and app, and infrequent updates. Digital account opening wasn’t available—anyone who wanted to join had to visit one of six branches.
The mission
TAPCO needed to convert deep community engagement into growth. Without digital account opening, thousands of people interacting with the brand at events, through partnerships, and online had no way to join outside branch hours.
